The desigNYC collective was formed in 2009 by a group of designers and design advocates to improve life in New York City by connecting nonprofits and community groups in need of design services with professional, pro bono design resources. This exhibition celebrates the progress and impact of the organization's 12 pilot projects and invites participation in the next round of collaborations scheduled to launch this fall. sandy benjamin-hannibal: quilts

A nationally recognized quilt artist, Benjamin-Hannibal makes work that reflects her connection to the African American quilt-making tradition. Her work has been displayed at the Smithsonian Institution and the Museum of Fine Art at Spelman College. She retired from Pratt in January after working at the Institute for 42 years, most recently as assistant to the chair of the Department of Foundation Arts.
