TEACHERS TEACHING on view in President’s Office Gallery 

A collection of photographs taken by M.I.D. candidate Chris Richard under the direction of Industrial Design Professor Bruce Hannah, the exhibition of the ongoing project, Teachers Teaching, shows Pratt teachers in their element, doing what they love to do, be it teaching, creating, or just thinking. Richard is a graduate of Oregon State University with a B.F.A. in Graphic Design.

The Twelve Days Of Christmas pop-up book, 1996, by Pratt alumnus and former faculty Robert Sabuda is one of the 125 Icons.This special 125th Anniversary exhibition presents the top 125 works by Pratt alumni and faculty—as voted on by the Pratt community.

VISITING ARTIST PHOEBE WASHBURN presents her work

Phoebe Washburn, Nunderwater Nort Lab, 2011, installation view, Zach Feuer Gallery, mixed media, overall dimensions variable.Pratt Institute Department of Fine Arts will present a lecture by Phoebe Washburn. Washburn creates large-scale architectural installations by amassing together cardboard, wood planks, and other varied building materials. She will discuss her influences, artwork, and career.

FREE “PRATT NIGHT” AT THE NEW MUSEUM 

Rosemarie Trockel: A Cosmos, 2012–13; exhibition view, New Museum.Pratt Institute Department of Fine Arts is offering a free “Pratt Night” at the New Museum in Soho.  Docents will be on hand to greet guests in the lobby and answer any questions. On view will be Rosemarie Trockel: A Cosmos, an exhibition covering the work of this mid-career German artist, whose imaginary universe is juxtaposed with objects and artifacts that map many of her artistic interests.

DIGITAL ARTist CARTER HODGKIN shows her multimedia work

Carter Hodgkin, Electromagnetic Fall mosaic with artist Carter Hodgkin, 2010.Pratt Institute Department of Digital Arts will present a lecture by Carter Hodgkin as part of its 2013 spring lecture series. Hodgkin combines digital media with drawing, painting, and animation to create work that explores a new language of abstraction.
