"Art is Study: 36 Years of Process and Influence" Exhibition

This exhibition features the work by sculptor/designer Carlos Rodriguez (Mare139), a New York-based sculptor and painter who pioneered a novel version of urban graffiti as modern sculpture in 1985. Rodriguez has exhibited and lectured throughout the U.S. and Europe, lending his voice to the importance of arts advocacy and cultural literacy in order to ensure and promote the rich cultural legacy of urban arts.

"Pratt Alumni Painters" Exhibition

Lisa Sanditz, Facebook Server Farm II, 2012, oil on canvas, 30 x 40 inches.More than one dozen alumni who graduated within the last three decades will present their work as part of "Pratt Alumni Painters." The work of Pratt alumni has been displayed at many prominent museums, including The Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Brooklyn Museum, as well as at museums and galleries internationally.

Public Television Documentary About Pratt to Air in June

In honor of the Institute's 125th anniversary, Treasures of New York, a documentary series exploring New York City's premiere cultural institutions, will profile Pratt and its legacy. Hosted by legendary journalist Pete Hamill, who attended Pratt in the 1950s, the episode explores the Institute's history through the eyes of founder Charles Pratt and current President Thomas F. Schutte. The program will air again in prime time in mid-October 2012.
