Samantha Nania
B.F.A. Fine Arts '13
As a jewelry designer, Nania draws her inspiration from the dynamic forms of ballet dancers with their fluid movements. Her work, which includes brooches, bracelets, and some more experimental pieces, uses a variety of materials from resins to exotic woods to further define space and suggest movement.
Nania is one of two graduating seniors that were tapped last spring to show their jewelry in the Museum of Arts and Design's prestigious exhibition LOOT: MAD About Jewelry. The show is an annually curated, five-day exhibition and sale of one-of-a-kind artist-made jewelry featuring the work of fifty accomplished designers from around the world. For Nania it is a great honor to have her work on display alongside that of such a select group of seasoned craftspeople.
