Roundtable Discussion: The Body Revealed
On October 29, a round table discussion titled The Body Revealed will be presented in conjunction with the exhibition SPLICE: At the Intersection of Art and Medicine. The discussion will focus on changing perceptions of the human body, how past and current social, economical, and technological developments influenced our perceptions of our bodies, our lives, and our imagination. The interdisciplinary panel discourse will be anchored in these questions and explorations, highlighting the essential interconnectedness of the diverse realms addressed by various contributors.
Panel participants include Perry Bard, Adjunct Associate Professor, Department of Foundation Art; Erika Biddle-Stavrakos, media artist and member of the Autonomedia editorial collective; Nina Czegledy; artist; SPLICE project curator; Senior Fellow, KMDI University of Toronto; Lisa O’Sullivan, Director, Center for the History of Medicine and Public Health, The New York Academy of Medicine; and Kim Sawchuk, Professor, Department of Communication Studies, Concordia University, Montreal. This is event is free and open to the public.
